{"doi":"10.1002/cnma.202000193","title":"Transportable Mononuclear Metal Atoms as Building Blocks for Bottom‐up Material Fabrication: Pt1(0) and Au1(0) Atoms in Stock Solutions","abstract":"Abstract Premade and readily transportable mononuclear zero‐valent metal atoms in stock solvents offer the potential capability for bottom‐up designable metallic material fabrication. This work demonstrates a potentially universal and practical strategy to prepare weakly shielded mononuclear metal atoms in a volatile solvent, which also constitutes a strippable ligand to the metal atoms. Herein, M 1 (0) (M=Pt, Au) atoms are prepared by reducing H 2 PtCl 6 and HAuCl 4 with ethanol in ethylene glycol diethyl ether (EGDE) under mild temperatures. The diether oxygens of EGDE, H + , and Cl − coordinating to the M 1 (0) atoms, make the M 1 (0) atoms stable in the solvent under low pH. However, the M 1 (0) atoms can be released either by evaporation of HCl and EGDE or through neutralization of the HCl with a base. The premade M 1 (0) atoms can be used as primary building blocks to construct designable materials. To demonstrate a potential application, the M 1 (0) atoms are conveniently transported onto the surface of TiO 2 through impregnation followed by mild heating. The atomic dispersion and reduced state of the metal atoms are well preserved, as verified by HAADF‐STEM images, XPS, and DRIFT spectroscopy.","journal":"ChemNanoMat","year":2020,"id":113103,"datarank":0.0,"base_score":0.0,"endowment":0.0,"self_citation_contribution":0.0,"citation_network_contribution":0.0,"self_endowment_contribution":0.0,"citer_contribution":0.0,"corpus_percentile":null,"corpus_rank":null,"citation_count":5,"citer_count":0,"citers_with_citation_signal":0,"citers_with_endowment":0,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"is_dataset":false,"is_dataset_confidence":0.9528,"is_data_producer":false,"deposit_databanks":null,"is_oa":false,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":"2020-01-01","fair_score":null,"fair_percentile":null,"algorithm_id":"datarank_citation_only_1hop_v6","ranking_scope":"data_only","authors":[{"id":534641,"name":"Changhui Liang","orcid":null,"position":1,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":533688,"name":"Pan Gao","orcid":"0000-0003-4997-6218","position":2,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":298283,"name":"Guangjin Hou","orcid":"0000-0001-8216-863X","position":3,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":533689,"name":"Kairui Liu","orcid":"0000-0002-2555-6238","position":4,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":533690,"name":"Wei Liu","orcid":"0000-0001-6336-4387","position":5,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":533691,"name":"Qike Jiang","orcid":"0000-0002-9352-4537","position":6,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":533692,"name":"Shi Bai","orcid":"0000-0003-2126-450X","position":7,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":533693,"name":"Z.
