{"doi":"10.1002/cncr.33673","title":"Reply to Neoadjuvant chemotherapy for locoregionally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the paranasal sinuses—Is it worthwhile?","abstract":"We thank Panda et al for their interest in our article1 and for their letter to the editor entitled “Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy for Locoregionally Advanced Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Paranasal Sinuses—Is It Worthwhile?” We agree with Panda et al that orbital preservation is an important goal of any treatment regimen for locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the paranasal sinuses without compromising oncologic outcomes. As such, in our study, patients who were deemed at high risk of orbital exenteration because of significant orbital invasion were considered for induction chemotherapy. Such a degree of invasion included the extra-ocular muscles, the orbital apex, or deep or extensive invasion of the orbital fat. In our study, patients with a significant response to induction chemotherapy had a very high likelihood of orbital preservation at the end of treatment without their cancer outcomes being compromised.
