{"doi":"10.1002/cjoc.200990268","title":"Highly Efficient and Versatile Synthesis of Some Important Precursors from 1,6‐Anhydrous‐<i>β</i>‐<i>D</i>‐glucopyranose as a Green Starting Material","abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Some important precursors (1,6‐anhydrous‐2‐deoxy‐2‐azido‐<jats:italic>β‐D</jats:italic>‐glucopyranose (<jats:bold>3)</jats:bold>, 1,6‐anhydrous‐2‐deoxy‐2‐ azido‐3,4‐di‐<jats:italic>O</jats:italic>‐benzyl‐<jats:italic>β‐D</jats:italic>‐mannopyranose (<jats:bold>5</jats:bold>), 1,6:2,3‐dianhydrous<jats:bold>‐</jats:bold><jats:italic>β‐D</jats:italic>‐glucopyranose (<jats:bold>6</jats:bold>), 1,6‐anhydrous‐3‐deoxy‐3‐azido‐<jats:italic>β‐D</jats:italic>‐glucopyranose (<jats:bold>10</jats:bold>) and 1,6‐anhydrous‐2,4‐di‐<jats:italic>O</jats:italic>‐benzoyl‐<jats:italic>β‐D</jats:italic>‐glucopyranose (<jats:bold>11</jats:bold>)) for complex oligosaccharide synthesis were readily prepared from a green starting material 1,6‐anhydrous<jats:bold>‐</jats:bold><jats:italic>β‐D</jats:italic>‐glucopyranose in one or two steps with moderate to high yields.
