Hence, we conducted a retrospective study in a large cohort of Chinese children with ALL treated with contemporary protocols. PATIENTS AND METHODS: A total of 1437 children (62.1% male; median age at diagnosis 5.7 years, range: 2.3-16.3 years) were enrolled in two consecutive clinical trials at the Shanghai Children's Medical Center. The rates of overall survival, event-free survival, relapse, treatment-related mortality, and adverse events were compared among patients who were underweight (BMI < 5th percentile), at a healthy weight (5th to 85th percentile), overweight (>85th to <95th percentile), and obese (≥95th percentile). RESULTS: At diagnosis, 91 (6.3%) patients were underweight, 1070 (74.5%) were at a healthy weight, 91 (6.3%) were overweight, and 185 (12.9%) were obese. No significant association was found between weight status and 5-year overall survival, event-free survival, or relapse in the overall cohort. When analyzed as a continuous variable, a higher BMI Z-score was associated with treatment-related mortality (hazard ratio 1.33 (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.05-1.68%), p = 0.02). The treatment-related mortality rate was higher in the overweight (5.5%, 95% CI 0.8-10.2%) and obese (3.2%, 95% CI 0.6-5.8%) groups compared with the underweight (0.0%) and healthy-weight groups (1.9%, 95% CI 1.1-2.7%; p = 0.04). Multivariable analysis showed that children who were overweight had a higher risk of treatment-related mortality (hazard ratio 3.8, 95% CI 1.3-11.4). CONCLUSION: While body weight status was not associated with event-free survival or overall survival, overweight patients were at higher risk of treatment-related mortality.","journal":"Cancer Medicine","year":2022,"id":254754,"datarank":0.676289853167707,"base_score":3.091042453358316,"endowment":3.091042453358316,"self_citation_contribution":0.4636563680037475,"citation_network_contribution":0.21263348516395944,"self_endowment_contribution":0.4636563680037475,"citer_contribution":0.21263348516395944,"corpus_percentile":70.46491838787036,"corpus_rank":3819,"citation_count":21,"citer_count":11,"citers_with_citation_signal":9,"citers_with_endowment":9,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"is_dataset":true,"is_dataset_confidence":0.6695,"is_data_producer":false,"deposit_databanks":null,"is_oa":true,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"has_version_chain":false,"published_date":"2022-01-01","fair_score":6.25,"fair_percentile":25.068786303882604,"algorithm_id":"datarank_citation_only_1hop_v6","ranking_scope":"data_only","authors":[{"id":901924,"name":"Yin Ting Cheung","orcid":"0000-0001-9874-8938","position":1,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":902454,"name":"Yanjing Tang","orcid":null,"position":2,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":901925,"name":"Hong Li","orcid":"0000-0002-3131-8594","position":3,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":96877,"name":"Yuan Zhu","orcid":null,"position":4,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":849766,"name":"Jing Chen","orcid":"0000-0003-2895-700X","position":5,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":883749,"name":"Zhuo Wang","orcid":"0000-0002-9482-4486","position":6,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":56331,"name":"Min Zhou","orcid":"0000-0002-8718-8506","position":7,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":901926,"name":"Yijin Gao","orcid":"0000-0002-7592-4115","position":8,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":902455,"name":"Benshang Li","orcid":null,"position":10,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":901927,"name":"Hui-liang Xue","orcid":"0000-0001-9756-9524","position":11,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":902456,"name":"Long-Jun Gu","orcid":null,"position":12,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":901928,"name":"Shuhong Shen","orcid":"0000-0002-0001-642X","position":13,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":901929,"name":"Jingyan Tang","orcid":"0000-0002-1905-5189","position":14,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":254773,"name":"Ching‐Hon Pui","orcid":"0000-0003-0303-5658","position":15,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":285762,"name":"Hiroto Inaba","orcid":"0000-0003-0605-7342","position":16,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":901930,"name":"Jiaoyang Cai","orcid":"0000-0003-2051-4044","position":17,"is_corresponding":false},{"id":420617,"name":"Wenting Hu","orcid":"0000-0003-4639-9056","position":0,"is_corresponding":true}],"reference_count":31,"raw_metadata":null,"created_at":"2026-07-19T00:25:08.518416Z","pmid":"36168702","pmcid":"PMC9939171","fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":22.2222,"fair_a":6.25,"fair_i":20.0,"fair_r":29.1667,"fair_zscore":-1.1162,"fair_rationale":{"fair_score":6.25,"has_llm":true,"taxonomy_version":"fair_taxonomy_v5","dimensions":{"F":{"name":"Findable","score":22.22,"criteria":[{"key":"f_dataset_pid","label":"Persistent identifier for the data","kind":"llm","weight":2.0,"fraction":0.0,"verdict":"no","evidence":null,"grounded":false,"rationale":"No identifier for the dataset is given; only a contact email.","anchors":["RDA-F1-01D — FAIR Data Maturity Model: 'Data is identified by a persistent identifier' (priorit","RDA-F1-02D — FAIR Data Maturity Model: 'Data is identified by a globally unique identifier'","FsF-F1-02D — F-UJI/FAIRsFAIR: 'Data is assigned a persistent identifier'"],"scored":true,"signal":null},{"key":"f_repository_named","label":"Named repository","kind":"llm","weight":2.0,"fraction":0.0,"verdict":"no","evidence":"Deidentified patient-level data including presenting features, treatment response, and follow-up, along with the study protocol are available by contacting Jiaoyang Cai ( caijiaoyang@scmc.com.cn ).","grounded":true,"rationale":"No repository is named; data are held by the authors.","anchors":["RDA-F4-01M — FAIR Data Maturity Model: metadata is offered so it can be harvested and indexed (","NIH DMS Policy Element 4 (NOT-OD-21-014) — name the repository where data will be archived","NSTC Desirable Characteristics of Data Repositories (2022) — 'Long-Term Sustainability', 'Reten"],"scored":true,"signal":null},{"key":"f_data_availability_statement","label":"Data-availability statement","kind":"llm","weight":2.0,"fraction":0.5,"verdict":"partial","evidence":"Deidentified patient-level data including presenting features, treatment response, and follow-up, along with the study protocol are available by contacting Jiaoyang Cai ( caijiaoyang@scmc.com.cn ).","grounded":true,"rationale":"The statement exists but points to a person, not a repository. Release the data at publication with no embargo, no registration wall, and no approval step — NIH's zero-embargo public- access rule (NOT-OD-25-101) has already made 'available at publication' the federal baseline for the article; the data should not lag behind it.
