In early websites, JavaScript was used primarily for small effects or form validation. Today's web applications are filled with thousands of lines of JavaScript executing all types of complicated processes. This evolution requires that developers take maintainability into account. Writing maintainable code is important because most developers spend a large amount of their time maintaining other people's code. TypeScript was first introduced by Microsoft in October 2012, as an open-source superset of JavaScript. The motivation behind creating TypeScript was to address some of the limitations of JavaScript, specifically around the lack of strong typing. Perhaps the most important part of any JavaScript solution is the final deployment to the website or web application in production. As the amount of JavaScript has increased in web applications, performance has become more important.","is_dataset_classified":null,"base_score":0.0,"endowment":0.0,"datacite_reuse_total":0,"file_count":0,"downloads":0,"views":0,"has_version_chain":false,"is_dataset":false,"is_oa":false,"pmid":"26207759","pmcid":null,"openalex_id":"https://openalex.org/W4386444376","authors":[],"funders":[],"total_grants":0,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"citation_trend":[],"oa_status":"closed","license":null,"oa_locations":[{"url":"https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdfdirect/10.1002/9781394193240.ch25","host_type":""},{"url":"https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1002/9781394193240.ch25","host_type":"publisher"},{"url":"http://dx.doi.org/10.1002/9781394193240.ch25","host_type":""}],"fields_of_study":["Mobile and Web Applications"],"mesh_terms":[],"keywords":["TypeScript","JavaScript","Unobtrusive JavaScript","Computer science","Web application","World Wide Web","Software engineering","Maintainability","Software deployment","Programming language","Rich Internet application","Ajax","Process (computing)","Database"],"sdg_mappings":[{"sdg_number":0,"sdg_label":"Quality Education"}],"linked_datasets":[],"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"database_accessions":[],"source":"live","citation_network_status":"fetched"},"created_at":"2026-08-18T14:28:42.992156Z","pmid":null,"pmcid":null,"fwci":null,"citation_percentile":null,"influential_citations":0,"oa_status":null,"license":null,"views":0,"total_file_size_bytes":0,"version_count":0,"fair_f":null,"fair_a":null,"fair_i":null,"fair_r":null,"fair_zscore":null,"fair_rationale":null,"fair_model":null,"fair_agent_version":null,"fair_fulltext_source":null,"fair_has_llm":null,"fair_computed_at":null,"clinical_trials":[],"software_tools":[],"db_accessions":[],"linked_datasets":[],"topics":[]}
